This item is a lever privacy profile on a short backplate which means it can be used on bathroom doors but itstead of it working with a mortice bathroom lock it actually works with a tubular mortice latch. It operates by turning the thumbturn which in turn moves something behind the backplate therefore stopping the lever handle from being depressed.
